Site Details
Working on this site was a very unique experience for me. I was called in because of some miscommunications between the client and the first hosting company that resulted in the site getting deleted. The owner didn’t have backups of the site’s stories and photos. At first, it was not looking good, but as a last resort, I checked the Internet Archive’s “Wayback Machine”. I discovered that they had about 98% of the site in their archives. Note that The Internet Archive is a nonprofit group that “focuses on preservation and providing access to digital cultural artifacts.” But the only way to get the photos and text into a new site was with good old copy/paste.
So I created a new WordPress site with a responsive theme. It was a big project but for a good cause. The new site has a cleaner design, animated banner photo, and now displays properly on mobile phones and tablets.
